Luke wasn't just a dog. He was the only family his owner had.
Luke belonged to Matt, an unhoused resident of Yorktown, New York. By every account from his neighbors, Luke was his companion and his constant — the one thing in a hard life that didn't change.
On Route 118 in Yorktown, Luke's leash broke during a scuffle with another dog. James, 61, allegedly used a firearm and shot Luke, who died from his injuries. James was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and aggravated cruelty to animals. He has pleaded not guilty, and the case is ongoing — he is presumed innocent unless and until convicted.

$LUKE is a memecoin. Memecoins are highly volatile, speculative, and can lose most or all of their value quickly. Nobody should buy this expecting a financial return — buy it if you want to help fund housing and you accept the token itself may be worth little or nothing.
